George Wardale

George Wardale has an impressive record of success at the highest level. After the Harvard Business School, he began his turnaround career in the US in the cable television & IT sectors. He then had several years implementing World Bank and UN agencies' projects in Asia and Africa. Following 11 years as a trouble-shooter for Lonrho plc as Chief Executive in a wide range of industries, he has spent the past 16 specialising in growth or recovery situations requiring an investing Chairman or Chief Executive, particularly where this involves consumer brands.

George has been instrumental in guiding major businesses through the restructuring and recovery process. His experience incorporates many sectors including Textiles, Clothing, Leisure, Healthcare, Insurance, Air Freight, Mineral Water and Manufacturing. A previous Non-Executive of Baltimore Capital plc, he is currently serving as Non-Executive Chairman of IPT Group, the result of a £130m management buyout from Coats Viyella and also as Non-Executive Director for Four Seasons Hotel, Hampshire. George is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and a Fellow of the Society of Turnaround Professionals.Professionals.
